Pomelo produces the largest fruit in the citrus group: round to pear-shaped, pale green to yellow and enclosed by a very thick rind. Inside, the large segments may be pale yellow, pink or red depending on the plant. The white flowers are also unusually large and strongly fragrant.
Broad, leathery leaves and wide winged petioles give young growth a substantial tropical outline. With age, the branching crown develops into a large citrus tree capable of carrying heavy full-sized fruit.
