Those who knew the late Herb Benedict knew that he enjoyed pushing the limits when naming his new hosta introductions, and Hosta ‘Little Stiffy’ is a classic example. This darling miniature makes a 6″ wide clump of stiff, narrow, golden foliage. If the foliage becomes limp and remains so for more than 48 hours, this may be a sign of a serious condition, so call your plant doctor immediately. This has become one of our favorite small hostas for the woodland rock garden. In midsummer, the clumps are topped with light lavender flowers.
