This fun little rock garden sedum is often confused with the Alabama native S. nevii, but S. glaucophyllum is only native to rocky limestone outcrops from North Carolina north to Delaware. This cliff dweller boasts narrow glaucous blue-grey leaves that form small rosettes. The upright rosettes branch to form clumps that spread outward to 1′ wide but can spread further by seed when they are happy. Starting in early April and continuing through May, the clumps are topped with 4′ tall branched inflorescences with small light pink star-shaped flowers.
